CHEESE FLAVORED RACER
Garage Headquarters: St. Louis, MO
Driver: Scott Neale
Mechanics: Kerry Devlin, Betty Neale-Oestreicher, Steve Neale-Oestreicher, Jessie Vanderveldt
Nuts and Bolts:
"I," says Scott Neale with an odd sort of dignity, "am a cheese puff." He goes on, "I do not wear a costume, although some fools may try to tell you it's a costume. My teammates are part of an elite group of cheese-flavored snacks deemed superior to the human race." If you're assuming that these "aliens" are from Wisconsin, think again. They're based right in the home of America's very first Red Bull Soapbox Race: St. Louis, Missouri.
Interestingly, it would seem that cheese-flavored beings have family relations much like our own. Neale, the team's driver, claims that his supporting mechanics are none other than his "brother," "fiancée," "sister-in-law," and "niece." The crunchy crew assert that they harbor no artificial ingredients which might ban them from competition, and that furthermore they don't need the kind of support human teams often seek in sponsoring organizations. "Cheese-flavored super-humans represent no college or corporation," Neale proclaims. "We simply represent ourselves and, make no mistake, we will dominate!" When encountering the cheese people on October 28, spectators and fellow competitors are advised to use caution. These racers strive to conquer – and besides, if you shake hands with one of them, your fingers will be yellow for a week.
