Here’s a team that focused on advancing technology. What else would you expect from a bunch of computer geeks? Inspired by the mobility of soapbox cars, these Hewlett-Packard colleagues decided to up the mobility factor of a certain daily necessity. That’s right; they’ve created the “Crapster 1,” a restroom on the run. And you thought port-o-potties were a breakthrough.

The teammates, who are also all teammates on a softball and dodgeball team called “The Nancies” (perhaps to be soon changed to “The Johnnies”?), stress the level of seriousness with which they’re approaching this race. As co-captain Abad states, “Our soapbox proves that we are a truly mobile society and you can go on the run, and even with the runs.” So committed to their cause, these guys even solicited the help of Valentine’s father, formerly a rocket scientist for NASA for over 30 years, for the design of the car. Rest assured, whether their john takes a peaceful jaunt down Fremont Ave. on race day or if it takes a spill and overflows – there’s sure to be plenty of toilet paper and hand sanitizer around.
