The guys on team Nickerson Rainer Racer are hoping that their beer bottle Red Bull Soapbox car can get down Fremont Avenue on September 29th as fast as they can down bottles of beer. If it does, Greg Dehay, Chris Gerke, Rory Ladwig, Chris Martino, Dan Murphy, Craig Panthen and Brad Tibbs are certain that they can guzzle their way to race day glory. The team of friends, whose occupations range from an industrial design student at the University of Washington to an automobile mechanic, are united in their love of good laughs and lagers.

Yet there’s more to these guys than their chugging chops – Murphy, Panthen and Tibbs have all raced together in downhill bike events, so they know what they’re doing when it comes to making gravity work in their favor. In any case, the group is excited to simply have a good time gearing up for race day. As Martino states, “We are loud and tall and racing a beer bottle. We are legends in our own minds already.”
