Event Details

Red Bull Soapbox Race challenges 36 teams of amateurs to engineers to craft outrageous human-powered carts to race against the clock in a downhill sprint to the finish line. On September 29th, racing dreams become reality on Seattle’s Fremont Avenue with a half-mile course that tested not just speed but steering ability.

Despite having teams from all over the country competing, it was four teams from Washington that took home the awards. Seattle's own A-Team took first place in the event, followed by Seattle-based Nickerson Rainier Racer in 2nd place and Sammamish, Washington's Rollin' Troll of Freemont in 3rd place. The People's Choice award, which is awarded to the team with the most text votes from the fans, went to Seattle's Rollaroid 600.
