Expect Elana Golder (Barbie) to drive it like she stole it. Elana attends Kennesaw State University in Atlanta, where two bubbly young women -- whom the media later dubbed the “Barbie Bandits” -- made headlines for pulling a bank job in tight jeans and designer shades. Elana looks to the now-incarcerated duo for fashion inspiration, while her team captain works to provide a successful getaway. “Our team is made up of racers who have held positions in NASCAR and IndyCar,” says the aptly named Les Law, who participated in the Atlanta Region All-American Soapbox Derby as a kid. “At the end of the day, we will get from point A to point B first.” To help Elana bolt down Mount Adams, chief designer Steve Law has constructed a sleek, pink Barbie racer composed of a fiberglass body and steel frame.

Les says that the Barbie Bandits’ biggest challenge will be getting Elana “to focus long enough to go down the hill. Our driver, while not made of plastic, is as high-maintenance as the real thing.” In order to get Elana off the starting line, a “Barbie thru the Ages” fashion show will bring Barbie past and present to life confirming not all Barbie’s grow old gracefully.
